for Flutes, Bassoon, Viola, Percussion (2), and Piano
From the program notes:
“To be transgender is to know what it is to be treated like a bomb. Though we are gentle and desire nothing but softness, we are often seen as a massive inconvenience, as an oddity, as a perversion, and even as something dangerous to those we love. To be transgender is to “come on real easy” despite the aggression that we are often met with. We allow ourselves to be fragile, to break and to rebuild. We are not destroyers, but we have always been catalysts.”
