for Solo Cello

From the program notes:

“Constant touch and the extraneous noise that is bound to accompany it are the only true ‘play’ that I hope to engage in — gently, carefully, through a framework that grants the player freedom to progress at their own pace. I am interested in the instrument’s breath, in laying all of its minute, overlooked noises bare: Where is the fulcrum between cello silence and cello sound, and, when expanded, how can that fulcrum be sustained in its own audible realm?”
